IIT full form: 

IIT full form is the Indian Institute of Technology. It is a group of autonomous public engineering and management institutes of higher education in India. It is a part of the Institutes of Technology Act of 1961, which sets standards for technical education in India and acts as an autonomous body for setting standards and providing education in engineering and technology.

The courses offered in different IIT colleges: 

India The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are premier autonomous public technical and research universities across India. The Ministry of Human Resource Development administers them, Government of India. The IITs offer a wide range of engineering, sciences, technology, management, humanities, and social sciences courses. 

Engineering: All IITs offer a four-year undergraduate program in engineering leading to a Bachelor of Technology degree. The exam patterns for IIT: 

The exam pattern for IITs varies depending on the institute and the course. Generally, most IITs follow the same exam pattern for undergraduate courses. The exam pattern comprises two stages – the written exam and the interview round. 

The written exam is conducted by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and is divided into two parts: the Main Examination and the Advanced Examination. The Main Examination is the first stage of the written exam and is for admission to undergraduate courses in IITs and other engineering colleges. 

It consists of three papers: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each paper is three hours duration, and the total marks for the exam are 300. The Advanced Examination is the second written exam stage and is for admission to IITs only. It consists of three papers of three hours duration each, and the total marks for the exam are 180. 

The interview round is the third and final stage of the exam. It is conducted by the respective IIT to judge the candidate’s aptitude, communication skills, and aptitude for the course. The total mark for the IIT exam is 480. The candidate must obtain a minimum score of 40% in each paper and 40% overall to qualify for admission. 

The marks obtained in the interview round are also taken into consideration while deciding the final rank of the candidate.

The cut-offs for IIT in India: 

The cut-off for IITs in India is the minimum marks that a student must score in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) to be eligible for admission into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). 

The cut-offs for IITs vary from year to year and depend on the total number of applicants, the number of seats available, and the difficulty level of the JEE. 

The cut-offs for various IITs are decided by the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The JAB consists of the seven IIT directors and the Chairman of the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). 

The JAB sets the cut-off marks after taking into consideration the availability of seats at the IITs, the number of applicants, and the difficulty level of the JEE. The cut-offs for IITs range from 90-95% for the general category and from 75 to 80% for the reserved categories.

The fee structure of IIT in India: 

It s determined by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The tuition fee for all IITs for the 2021-22 session is INR 1,00,000 per annum. In addition to the tuition fees, the students have to pay hostel fees, mess charges, and other fees which vary from IIT to IIT. 

The hostel fees for single occupancy and double occupancy range from INR 30,000-50,000 and INR 20,000-30,000 respectively. The mess charges range from INR 10,000-20,000 per annum. The tuition fee for SC/ST category students is waived and they are required to pay only the hostel and mess fees. 

The tuition fee of students belonging to the economically weaker section (EWS) is also waived and they only have to pay hostel and mess fees. Apart from these, the students have to pay the institute development fees of INR 5,000 per annum. 

The students also have to pay a caution deposit fee of INR 5,000 which is refundable upon completion of the course. The students also have to pay other fees such as examination fees, library fees, sports fees, medical fees,s and various miscellaneous fees which may vary from IIT to IIT.
