For parents (in plain English): This page is the starting point for everything that happens after the JEE exam — understanding the scorecard, estimating which college the rank can reach, and the government counselling process (JoSAA) that actually allots seats. Your child does not need to pay anyone or share passwords to do any of this. Read the section that matches where you are right now, and follow the one next step it suggests.
Stay safe: Only the official site jeemain.nta.nic.in releases JEE Main scorecards and jeeadv.ac.in releases JEE Advanced results. EngineeringHulk never asks for your application number, date of birth or password. Ignore anyone promising “guaranteed seats” or “rank improvement” for a fee.
Where are you in the JEE 2026 journey? JEE Main 2026 results are out, JEE Advanced was held on 17 May, and JoSAA counselling opens on 2 June. From now through July, the questions that matter change every week — first “what does my score mean”, then “where will I get in”, then “how do I fill choices”. This hub is organised into five pillars so you can jump straight to your stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the JEE Main 2026 qualifying percentile?
The official General-category qualifying percentile for JEE Main 2026 is 93.4123549, confirmed in the NTA Session 2 cutoff notice. Qualifying percentiles for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories are published by NTA in the same notice — check the official PDF on jeemain.nta.nic.in for the exact category figures.

When is the JEE Advanced 2026 result?
JEE Advanced 2026 was held on 17 May 2026 and the result is scheduled for 1 June 2026, as per the IIT Roorkee notification. The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) for B.Arch admission follows on 4 June 2026.

When does JoSAA 2026 counselling start?
JoSAA 2026 counselling registration opens on 2 June 2026 at 17:00, right after the JEE Advanced result. Counselling runs across 6 rounds of seat allotment covering IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

How many engineering seats are available through JoSAA?
In the 2025 cycle, JoSAA allotted roughly 62,853 seats across 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs and about 40 GFTIs. The official JoSAA 2026 seat matrix is released on josaa.nic.in alongside counselling — use that for exact 2026 numbers.

What is the difference between marks, percentile and rank in JEE Main?
Marks are your raw score out of 300. NTA converts marks to a percentile (0–100) normalised across exam shifts. Your All India Rank is then derived from that percentile relative to all candidates. Because around 16 lakh students appeared, even a 0.1 percentile difference can shift your rank by several thousand places.

What are my options if I did not qualify for JEE Advanced?
A JEE Main score still opens NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and many private and state colleges through JoSAA and CSAB. Beyond that, exams like BITSAT, VITEEE, COMEDK and state CETs (WBJEE, MHT-CET, KCET, EAMCET) accept separate or JEE Main scores. A drop year is one option among several — it should be a data-based decision, covered in detail in Pillar 5.

Are online JEE rank and college predictors accurate?
A predictor is an estimate, not a guarantee. A good one is built on multiple years of official JoSAA closing-rank data and shows a confidence range rather than one exact rank. Treat predicted colleges as Safe, Target or Reach, and verify against the official cutoff PDFs before locking JoSAA choices.

Is this JEE hub free to use?
Yes. Every guide, data table and tool here is free, needs no login, and never asks for your JEE application number or password. We only link to official NTA, IIT and JoSAA sources for actions like checking scorecards.

If the result has been hard to process — please read this.
A rank does not measure your worth, and one exam does not decide your life. If you or someone you know is struggling, you are not alone. Talk to someone you trust, and reach out to iCall (9152987821) or the Vandrevala Foundation (1860-2662-345) — both are free, confidential and available 24/7.
